“We want it to feel like a family dinner in a Spanish village,” said the event producer.  That inspired visions of very simply cooked vegetables in cast-irons, jamon Iberico – a staple at a Spanish table and patatas bravas -with crispy skin that crunched in your mouth, followed by saffron tinged aioli…all washed down with Rioja.  We created a culinary experience for Amazon Studios premiere of ‘Life Itself,’ a film set in Spain with thousand-year old olive trees as the backdrop.  We partnered with a creative producer that has a keen understanding of immersive experiential events with a deep appreciation for good food and had chosen the right partner to bring this specific vision to life.  We created a table – that could have been dropped into the floor in the middle of an art gallery – for 300, without the sloppiness usually needed to serve 300, but with the curation to expect the 300 to observe and eat with curiousity, venturing into beautiful ‘tapas’ that they may not have tried before.  This event – another example of transporting the citizens of the city of Angels to another continent in another time through thoughtful event planning – is keen.  Feast for the eyes on authentic jamon Iberico, mushrooms with hazelnut & basil picadilla, Spanish cave aged goat cheese with sherry & port braised figs, patatas brava, French fries with smoked paprika and garlic aioli in wood cups that the Amazon team director said were ‘the best fries I’ve ever had in my life.’
